Overlooking women in the Swiss International Style was not unique to the movement itself but was a reflection of broader gender disparities within the design industry of the mid-20th century. The lack of access to education, limited professional opportunities, and a lacking celebration of female designers contributed to their underrepresentation in the movement. Recognizing and rectifying these historical imbalances is an important step in acknowledging the contributions of women to the field of graphic design and understanding their role in the evolution of design movements like the Swiss International Style.
